Season 2 of American drama-comedy series Jane the Virgin aired from October 12, 2015 to May 16, 2016 on The CW.

Synopsis[]

Following the startling cliffhanger to Season 1, Jane and Rafael must now deal with the kidnapping of their son and the repercussions it has in their lives. Additionally, both have to adjust to their new roles as parents.

Meanwhile, Rogelio and Xiomara get to explore the new status of their relationship, while Alba will focus on moving forward from the status quo of her 'illegal' status. And Jane, courted by both Rafael and Michael, will have to decide where her heart truly lies.[1][2]

After Jane discovers Mateo’s abduction, chaos ensues, especially when they all learn that Sin Rostro is involved and demanding a ransom. Trying to help, Rogelio tweets about Mateo’s kidnapping making the Villanueva family targets of the paparazzi. Despite everything that has happened, Jane must also focus on motherhood and turns to Xo and Alba for help, leaving Rafael feeling left out. Meanwhile, Petra is conflicted with what to do with Rafael’s remaining sperm sample.

Jane is finally in rhythm with Mateo, but finds herself out of step with Rafael and Michael and the love triangle that is brewing between them. Petra and Rafael are suspicious of Lachlan (guest star Michael Rady) and his recent business proposal but are soon faced with an even more shocking revelation. Meanwhile, Alba makes a very big decision that will impact her life.
