Season 2 of CW dramedy Jane the Virgin was announced on January 11, 2015. It premiered October 12, 2015 and its mid-season finale was on December 14. The show's winter premiere was on 25 January, 2016[1] and the season concluded on 16 May, 2016.[2]


Following the startling cliffhanger to Season 1, Jane and Rafael must now deal with the kidnapping of their son and the repercussions it has in their lives. Additionally, both have to adjust to their new roles as parents.

Meanwhile, Rogelio and Xiomara get to explore the new status of their relationship, while Alba will focus on moving forward from the status quo of her 'illegal' status. And Jane, courted by both Rafael and Michael, will have to decide where her heart truly lies.[3][4]

DIFFERENT ARRANGEMENTS – Jane (Gina Rodriguez) takes on additional shifts at the Marbella to make some extra money, but it starts cutting into her time with Mateo. Xo (Andrea Navedo) takes an acting role on Rogelio's (Jaime Camil) telenovela and they are both surprised with her performance. Michael (Brett Dier) gets called into his boss' office after a newspaper runs a story on him and Sin Rostro. Meanwhile, Petra (Yael Grobglas) confronts Rafael when she learns that the twins' trust fund is different from Jane's arrangement.

Rogelio (Jaime Camil) is hurt when Dina (guest star Judy Reyes) doesn't invite him to her birthday party, so he asks Jane to help in an unusual way. Rafael (Justin Baldoni) finds himself in big trouble thanks to his half-brother. Meanwhile, Xo finds herself in a compromising position.

Meanwhile, Michael (Brett Dier) is convinced that Derek (guest star Mat Vairo) is really in cahoots with Mutter (guest star Fabiana Udenio) and has a plan to prove it.
